Exterior cleaning in Crumlin

Crumlin covers a lot of ground. There's the village itself, the housing out towards Aldergrove, and plenty of country houses around both.

Commuter housing and country property, side by side

Crumlin has a good deal of newer housing built for people commuting to Belfast or working near the airport, sitting alongside older rural property on much bigger plots. People in the newer estates often ask about windows and driveway washing, while the older places more often need gutters, soffits and render. We do both on the same trip, so it's worth asking about everything at once.

Open aspect towards the lough

Once you are out past the village towards Lough Neagh the ground opens up and the weather gets at the buildings from the west. Windward walls, gable ends and exposed PVC take the worst of it and discolour unevenly, which is why one side of a house can look years older than the other.

The Glen and the tree line

Properties backing onto Crumlin Glen and the wooded ground around it have the same problem as Ballinderry. The gutters fill with leaves every autumn, and there's heavier moss on the shaded side of the roof. If you are up against the trees, plan on clearing the gutters before winter rather than after the first blockage.
