Why autumn matters

Once autumn arrives around Belfast and Lisburn, leaves, moss from the roof and years of silt pack the gutters hard. If water comes over the front of the gutter in heavy rain, the gutter is already blocked, not just covered in a thin layer of leaves. That overflow soaks the fascias, drips under the edge of the roof and stains the walls.

When to book

Book once most of the leaves have fallen on your street, or sooner if your gutters are already overflowing. If your house has a lot of trees around it, you may need another visit in spring as well, and our FAQs explain how often gutters should be cleared. The busiest time for us is when the leaves come down, and that's when most people around Lisburn call.

What we do

We clear gutters from the ground with a vacuum on a long pole. There's a camera on the end, so we can see exactly what we're taking out. We clear the upper and lower gutters and flush the downpipes, so the rain has somewhere to go once we leave. On a house it reaches about 40 feet, and there's no ladder against your wall. What gutter clearing means

Gutter clearing means emptying out the inside of your gutters and unblocking the downpipes, so the rain can run away. That's what most people need once the leaves come down. Lots of people call the job gutter cleaning. We call it clearing, because we empty out the inside of your gutters. Washing the outside of your gutters so they look white again is a separate job, which is our gutter, soffit and fascia wash.

Price

Gutter clearing starts at £70 for one or two sides of an average house, and checking the downpipes is part of the price. Three sides cost £105 and four sides cost £140. Questions about autumn gutter clearing

When should I have my gutters cleared in autumn?
